You want to cancel sound?

Forever?

Sometimes… it is good to have no sound at all.

The sight-cancelling glasses don’t cancel sight either. And as for the smell-cancelling clothes peg attached to the tip of one’s nose …

Loud, loud, loud music in my headphones, cancels the sounds I don’t want to hear :)

I have recently taken to NOT playing my Ipod on trains for the following two reasons:

1) I sing out loud sometimes when a song I like comes on. I cannot sing and I don’t want to upset people or make myself look foolish.
and
2) You miss out on some fascinating conversations that other people are having if you have headphones on.

But, yes, some sounds you really do not want to hear (for example, the people next door making very passionate love explosion sex)*

*you need to say that in a Borat type of way.

:)

I wish they had a device to shut people up. That would be better.

Bohémienne - not forever. just for a slice of time.

Andophiroxia: yes, definitely!

Mr. Witness: i would like your kind assistance in instruction for the construction of mind-glasses, please.

Lillipilli: oh, a very wise suggestion, but what such music to listen to?

Colin: 1) would you not ask everyone in the carriage to join in on the chorus? and 2) mainly the ones i hear are football, business or “gaahn ahht” related. but yes. (and congratulations for your reasoning!)

CP: perhaps a “shhh” beam?
